It's Android time Guys.
Android phones are on every one's mind.
From kids to elders all they want is to own an android smartphone. But features come with prices, and to say it clearly , the more features you want the more money you will have to spend from your pocket.
Most of the Teens are in Dilemma to select their first android buddy.
If you are one among them then this article is truly meant for you.
For me the first android should range in between INR 6000 - INR 10,000 or $110 - $185 approx.

And the basic features for your first android phone should be
  • A good quality Camera (One of the most important feature for teenagers who are regular with posting of pics on Social sites viz . Facebook,Twitter,Instagram etc.)
  • Decent Internet connection (Why spend thousands of bucks just to buy a phone with 21.1 mbps net speed? For daily usage 7.1 or 15 mbps speed)
  • Applications (The need for every teen. One of the fore most reason why Android phones are preferred over Windows phone)
  • Decent proccesor : It's one of the lags in a smartphone that if it doesn't have a good proccesor then it has the tendency to hang most times but a processor close to 800 MHz will work fine.
  • Battery Backup : I personally categorize this as the most important because android phone drains battery like hell.Be careful to choose phone above 1200 Mah.
  • Internal memory : Another important or rather much important factor in android phones because if you are a gaming geek or apps lover then better pay attention. A phone with minimum 130 - 150 MB would be good for normal usage but remember it's very difficult to get a phone with a gigabyte memory under 200$

So now our count down begins.
After reading the above points i hope readers will at least feel easy to select better phones.

1.Galaxy Y(S5360)

Samsung Galaxy Y

So our first phone in our list is Galaxy Y.
The young generation phone Samsung Galaxy Y is priced at INR 5800 and comes with a pleasing and cool design. The screen size is 3 inch TFT touch screen with 262 K colors  and the resolution 320x240 just provides a cool display feature to this phone. This phone runs on 2.3 Gingerbread which is quiet outdated now but is simple and easy to use.
The processor clocking at 832 MhZ provides a decent speed to the mobile with most apps running without flaws.

A 2 megapixel camera with 2x zoom decent capturing and recording feature. If you are too fond of photography then this factor might prove to be a con for you but never the less its a samsung product so you can expect better quality images compared to micromax, lava, karbonn whibh gives 3.2 sometimes even 5  megapixels at the same price but with poor quality images.
The proximity sensor adds to it's features which turns off the screen when close to the ears while talking to avoid opening of any other apps.
The battery has 1200 mah power which is just sufficient to run a full day.But believe me if you are a real social addict using internet for long duration,be sure to keep your charger near you all the time.
The talktime of this phone is a bit on the lowerside with 16hours on 2G and 6 hours on 3G.But believe me that's more than enough.

Now the music lovers, this phone has got a 3.5 mm  jack which means you can connect this phone to your speaker. And this phone will support all new headphones viz. Beats,Senhheiser,Sony etc.

The internal memory of this phone is 160 mb which is good but not too good.If you are a gaming and apps geek better install phone to microSD to avoid low memory problems but for its range this memory is enough.
The internet speed is 7.2 Mbps HSDPA which means you can get a max 7.2 Mbps speed using 3G network.
Othe features are WiFi,Hot Spot,Tethering which are of use if you own a laptop or want to pair up for net usage via another android mobile phone.
So my blog gives Samsung Galaxy Y (6 out of 10) 6/10 ratings.

So this phone is not a bad choice for your first android buddy.

2. Galaxy Y Duos (S6102)

Galaxy Y Duos

Next in our category comes the Samsung galaxy Y duos.
Similar phone to Galaxy Y the basic differences being the display which is 240x320 instead of 320x240 and the screen size of 3.14 inch in place of 3 inches.(That would not make much of a difference though).
This phone has a mode of dual sim.But the con is that not both the sims can together be in standby mode
The mobile is powered by a 1300 mAh battery with 17 hrs 2G talktime and 6 hrs 3G.
The Camera is a bit better than Galaxy Y.It's camera is 3 mega pixels which will definitely give you good quality pictures. The recording is done with 24fps compared to 15fps in galaxy Y.So a plus point over Y.
The internet facilities are similar to that of Galaxy Y.
In memory this phone has a 160 mb internal memory to go with 348 mb ram and 512 mb rom with a 832 MhZ Qualcom Scorpion Processor. So the sperformance is quite similar to that of Galaxy Y.
This phone just like other modern day phone has 3.5 mm Jack.
It is priced at INR 7800 or 143$ approx.

So my blog gives it a rating of  7/10 (7 out of 10).
Not at all a bad choice for you first android.

3.Galaxy Music Duos (S6012)

                                                 Galaxy Music Duos

Next up is our Galaxy Music phone.Recently launched and the good news is that it supports Android 4.0 ICS.
Very similar to it's ancestors viz. Galaxy Y and Galaxy Y Duos.
However the processor has been improved and it is now powered by a 850 MhZ cortex A9 processor. Similar to that used in S advance but of less MhZ.
Well as depicted by tje name it is mostly for music lovers so the internal memory of this phone has been raised to 4 GB so that the music lovers need not worry about space problems while saving their favorite songs.
The camera has 3 megapixel with 2x zoom and touch focus with recording at 25fps.
The screen size is 3 inch but instead of TFT it has a LCD screen for brighter display.
The plus point of  this phone is the feature of dual standby, which means that if you get a call on one sim and another person tries calling you on another sim, he will simply be diverted to you other sim and you can switch the calls.Internet speed is similar, and battery is 1300 Mah similar to the previous phones.
So the plus points of this phone are
1. Android 4.0 ICS
2. Internal Memory 4GB
3. Dual Standby.

This phone is priced at INR 6500 or 120 $

So this is a mid range phone for music lovers. So if you Like it then Buy it.Don't Hesitate

4. Galaxy Chat (B5330)

                                                       Galaxy Chat

INR 7900 or 145 $. A mid range phone specially for qwerty lovers.Would not go deep into its functions as the previous phones are very similar to this one.
The basic features of this phone are
  1. Android 4.0 ICS
  2. 2 MP camera
  3. 850 MhZ processor with 512 MB ram
  4. TouchWiz UI for smoother touch interface
  5. Internal Memory 4GB
  6. 3 inch Touch Screen with Qwerty KeyPad
So this phone is basically a Re Make of galaxy series with a qwerty keypad.Because as you can see by the features that except Qwerty all other features are quiet same.
But to add here the ICS 4.0 hin this phone is much smoother to use.
So an excellent for it's Price.
Rating (9/10) 9 out of 10

5. Galaxy Ace (S5830i)

                                                     Galaxy Ace

The Samsung Galaxy Ace runs on the old Android 2.3 or Gingerbread. The phone has a 3.5 inch touchscreen and is powered by a 832 mAh arm11 processor with Adreno 200.So basically the processor is quite good and no problems of lagging should occur. The camera is on the higher side i.e.  5MP with a LED flash. This is the oly phone in Samsung below 185$ to have a LED flash.
The phone is powered by a 1350 mAh battery which has a talktime of 18hrs on 2G and 7 hrs on 3G.
The internal memory is low and is only 158 MB so that's a Con in this mobile for me.The internet speed in 3G can be upto 7.2 Mbps.
The phone like other phones has a A Gps support with google maps.
The price range of this phone is between (9200 - 9800). May vary shop and state wise as the model is a bit old.

To conclude : This is a good phone with the only con being the low memory. But if you are not worried about memory then surely opt for this mobile.
My blog gives it a rating of (8/10) 8 out of 10
.

So the winner in our first Android buddy

is....

GALAXY CHAT :)
